5 Easy Marinades for Pork

December 26, 2016 by Kamado Mary Leave a Comment

pork2edit

Since we have already discussed some easy marinades for chicken and steak, it only makes sense to talk about pork marinades next! All marinades are basically made up of an acid, a base oil, and lots of herbs and spices to give them flavor, so they’re pretty easily made in your kitchen!

Marinades are super simple because you can make them in advance and store them, and when it’s time to marinate your meat you can just leave it and walk away! Here are five marinade recipes you can use on pork loin, pork chops, or really anything in between!

1) Classic

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

2) Jalapeno Honey

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 seeded jalapenos, minced
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 – 4 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and red pepper to taste

3) Balsamic

  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp honey

4) Italian

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 – 5 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp basic
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

5) Mustard

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

As always, feel free to experiment with the amounts of the ingredients to perfect the taste, but make sure to leave the basic ratio about the same! Your pork should be marinated for at least a few hours, but I recommend leaving it overnight. Just be conscious not to over-marinate, as it’ll leave your meat mushy from the acid!
