I’ll admit that I’m a little bit of a picky eater. With that being said, typically I’m not very adventurous with my meals, but I also get burnt out on the same old boring thing pretty easily. So, I’m always looking for new ways to eat the same thing— as is the case with the forever famous, always delicious, American native, burger.
I’ve long been a sucker for the mouthwatering burger, but because my taste buds get burnt out on the same old repeats, I’ve found some great ways to dress them up! So, today, I’ve compiled a list of 9 delicious ways to top your burgers!
1) Breakfast Burger – My favorite!
- American cheese
- 2 – 4 slices of bacon
- 1 over easy egg
2) Chips & Dip Burger
- Queso cheese
- 1 – 2 tbsp guacamole
- 1 – 2 tbsp sliced jalapenos (optional)
- Crunched tortilla chips
3) French Onion Burger
- Swiss cheese
- 2 tbsp – 1/4 cup caramelized onion
- 1 tbsp french onion dip
4) Walking Taco Burger – My second runner up!
- American cheese
- 2 tbsp – 1/4 cup chili
- 1 – 2 tbsp diced jalapeno
- 1 – 2 tbsp diced onion
- Fritos
5) Italian Burger
- 2 – 3 mozzarella sticks
- 2 – 3 tbsp marinara sauce
- Fresh basil (optional)
- 1 – 2 cloves minced garlic
6) Barbecue Burger – The third runner up!
- Cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp – 1/4 cup fried onions
- 2 pieces of bacon
- 2 tbsp barbecue sauce
- 3 tbsp coleslaw (optional)
7) Hawaiian Burger
- Pepper jack cheese
- Pineapple ring
- 2 – 3 tbsp sliced green onion
8) California Burger
- Cheddar Cheese
- 2 – 3 tbsp mayonnaise w/ lemon juice and paprika
- Sliced avocado
- Sliced red pepper
9) Buffalo Burger
- Pepper jack cheese
- 2 -3 tbsp buffalo sauce
- 2 tbsp ranch or blue cheese
For the burgers that don’t include sauces, I typically just use some ketchup, mayo, or mustard like usual or even leave it plain. Like always, feel free to experiment with the measured amounts until you perfect your taste!
